Luna announced, “They are in visual range; they have shut down their radar. The range is now at 3.75 miles. Launching the drone at 2.75 miles should reach their ship at a range of 1.75 miles. We should survive the blast.”

“Do it.”

The launch was so small that it was undetectable.

“The drone is on target… Wait, I have multiple targets; they have two, no… Three Ogres in spacesuits with jetpacks that separated from the main ship.”

“What happens if the drone hits one of them?”

“Vaporized the EVA Ogres, but the ship may survive.”

“Then make sure you aim at the main ship.”

“I am an AI, or the sad little shadow of a really impressive one; I think I can still aim a drone.”

“Are the times the same?”

“No, I am waiting till 2.825, and max the drone acceleration, the odds of the Ogres being unable to intercept it goes up.”

“Do it!”

“Launched, It is on its way. One of the Ogres is attempting to hit it with a battle axe. It missed, but the drone is slightly off course, correcting,… correcting…”

BOOM!

“Saying it hit seems a bit redundant. The Ogres ship is destroyed. Two of the Ogres were in suits and are now very dead. One is somehow intact, but it has lost all of its weapons. It is drifting towards this ship. I would maneuver. However, all the ship systems are now rebooting. I am lucky I am not rebooting. I did add some extra shielding. At least that worked.”

Anderson said, “Let me guess, the Ogre will hit our ship?”

“No, it should… Correction: Debris from their ship has nudged it and may be able to reach our ship. The Gatling gun is offline. That would have been my next suggestion.”

Things started pinging against the ship. Larger things that I was comfortable hitting us. Then one went THUD, and I heard hissing sounds, and the pressure we had worked so hard to restore started rapidly dropping off.

I yelled, “Everyone checks your suits!”

Luna said, “Contact, one of the Ogres, has grabbed into our ship. They have managed to hang on. There is no chance of using the Gatling gun anymore; they are slowly making their way to the outer airlock. We have a problem with the ship computer in a reboot; the outer airlock door can be manually operated, and we can’t do anything about it.”

“What if we open the inner door? Don't they interlock?”

“Yes, if we had pressure, we are down to 1.5 PSI, and the interlock needs 2 PSI.”

Princess Domonis said, “Maybe it doesn't know how to operate the airlock, or it can't fit.”

“The outer airlock door is being cycled; it is opening.”

“Maybe it can't fit?”

It has entered, and it is closing the outer door.

Anderson said, “How long until the ship reboot completes?”

“It is rebooted. However, if the outer door is closed, it will accept the command to open the inner door. Nothing we can do about that.”

“Get the pistols, the Smith and Wesson model 500 revolvers; the LAR is too dangerous to operate in this Swiss cheese reject of a ship.
